Online surveys can be entertaining and a fun way to make some money, but don’t expect them to be anymore than what they are – a means of generating a few extra dollars each month.
You can ignore the hype about making $25.00 an hour, or the ads promising $250.00 a day doing online paid surveys.
It’s not going to happen.
Paid surveys usually reward your efforts in one of the following basic ways:
1. Sweepstake entries:
A sweepstake entry should be self explanatory. You do the survey and they’ll enter your name into their daily, weekly, or monthly draw for cash or prizes. It’s the equivalent of buying a lottery ticket. Your chances of winning will depend on how many people complete the surveys and are entered into the draw with you.
2. Points credited towards gifts:
Points rewards are given for each survey you do, the amount depending on the survey length. Normally, you will require a minimum of 1000 points before you can redeem your reward. Depending on the survey company, 1000 points is equivalent to $5.00 or $10.00. A survey can be worth anywhere from 5 to 500 points and will usually take 10 to 30 minutes to complete.
3. Points credited towards cash:
This is the same as points credited towards gifts, except that cash is the end reward verses a gift certificate.
4. Cash payouts per survey:
Cash is paid immediately for some surveys and could range from $1.00 to $5.00 each. The surveys can be 10-30 minutes long, not of any regularity, and jumped on very quickly by everyone signed up to do these online surveys.
You shouldn’t have to pay anyone for a list of survey companies.
A quick internet search will provide you with a long directory of businesses wanting people to take part in their online surveys.
Online surveys are easy to participate in and it is a worthwhile no-cost exercise to try a few and see if they’re right for you.
